DIY Massage Oil In Less Than 10 Minutes!

posted in Skin & Body
  • This is my recipe for a luxurious massage oil. It takes me less than 10 minutes to whip up, and is great for setting the mood;)

I also added some Bonus options for your hair!

  • The oils I used can be substituted in a million different ways! Use the ones that suit you best! I happen to use coconut and olive oil for EVERY thing:) And of course pick the essential oils that you like most! My boyfriend and I Love lemongrass and peppermint! Peppermint is a nice bonus since it increases blood flow.

Also, I recommend a dark glass bottle instead of the plastic one shown. I'm reusing a jojoba oil bottle that I had on hand. I like the flip top it came with. It makes it easy to get a few drops at a time.

  • What you'll need:
    -a container
(mine is a 4oz. Adjust recipe to size)
    -measuring spoons
    -glass bowl
(If your using an oil that requires melting)
    -6 tbl coconut oil
(Can use DoTerra coconut carrier oil, this one stays a liquid. I usually use this but it's time to reorder)
    -6 tbl olive oil
    -1 tbl Vitamin E oil
    -10 drops peppermint essential oil
    -10 drops lemongrass essential oil
    (Pick your favorite essential oils:))

  • Start by melting coconut oil. You can use a double boiler or the microwave. When I'm melting this small of an amount I use the microwave in 10 second intervals. Then pour into container.

  • Then add olive oil to the container.

  • I add my main carrier oils first. Mostly, so I know how much I can fit into my container.

Add the Vitamin E oil next. You can use Vitamin E capsules if that's what you have. Just puncture the capsule and squeeze the oil in.

I use Vitamin E oil for just about everything that has to do with my skin. So, I like to keep a bottle like the one shown. It's more convenient for me than the capsules.

  • Lastly add your essential oils. For sensitive skin add less and always do a patch test before applying all over.

Shake it all up! And.. Your ready for a sensual massage:)

Optional: microwave it for a few seconds(like 10) before using for a little extra heat that soothes the muscles and sets the mood:)

  • BONUS! This can be used as a hair treatment! Shampoo hair, towel dry. Then apply this oil to ends up to the midshaft of the hair. Let sit anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. It's all in how much time you have;) Then, Rinse, Rinse, Rinse! Olive oil is tricky and takes some extra rinsing but this will leave your hair feeling amazing once it's dry!

I really do not recommend putting this at the root of your hair since your scalp creates oil it can leave your hair feeling too oily.

  • Unless, your in need of a scalp treatment! Add some tea tree essential oil to the mix! Brush your hair and scalp, then shampoo. Really scrub and massage your scalp to get the blood flowing. Apply the oil to your scalp and massage it in. Let it set about 15 Minutes and rinse :)
