  • To add a tremendous amount of personality to basic paper lanterns on the cheap, look to map pages. Simply cut the map into circles u you can use a circle cutter, available in the scrapbooking aisle of most craft stores, then glue on rows of map circles, overlapping each for extra texture.

  • Tile  coasters: Map pages glued to plain white tiles and  sealed with decoupage medium, create a lovely set of coasters.

  • Map coasters you will need:
*maps
*cutting mat
*round cork coasters, in natural
*craft knife
*foam paint brush
*glue sealant

  • Step 1: Place map on a cutting mat, printed side down, then place cork coaster on top.

Step 2: Cut out circles from map by tracing coaster with craft knife.

  • Step 3: Use brush to apply glue sealant to one side of coaster, covering completely. Adhere back of map circle to coaster, smoothing to remove bubbles.

  • Brush top and sides of coaster with a thin layer of glue sealant, and let dry. Repeat to make a set.
