DIY Hydrating Toner Mist.

  • I started making my own toner regularly about six months ago. I was previously hooked on Aubrey Organics Sparkling Mineral Water Complexion Mist until I realized the rate at which I actually go through toner. I love products. But I have to draw the line sometimes. I will always spend money on quality products, but I also prioritize. Moisturizer is a must have product, in my opinion, since it stays on your face the longest. Cleanser, on the other hand, is rinsed off within minutes.

  • Not necessarily where you need to drop a lot of money. Toner is nice, but it’s mostly water that can disappear very quickly if you use it like I do. I love this recipe, and honestly I don’t even miss the store bought ones anymore.

  • With most homemade skin and body care recipes, I go fairly easy on the essential oils. I like blending them, but I try to keep it simple so that one or two scents can dominate the product. Not here. I put everything in. Any essential oil that is good for your skin that I have on hand, it goes in here. I don’t really care what the end result smells like, because with everything I’ve added it has to be freaking amazing for your skin, right?! I could make a simple toner, or I could make a better toner.
I don’t expect most of you to have all these essential oils on hand. Use what you have.

  • I use the following ingredients:

Rosewater– anti inflammatory, soothing, hydrating, clears pores, mood enhancer, strengthens skin

Fennel– moisturizing, strengthens connective tissue, anti-aging, antiseptic, stimulates circulation

Basil– controls acne and blemishes, antiseptic, improves skin tone

Carrot Seed– nourishes, tightens, helps eczema and psoriasis, anti-aging, protects from UV rays, stimulates cell growth and helps heal damaged skin

Clove– antimicrobial, kills acne bacteria, potent antioxidant.

  • Geranium– soothing, healing, treats inflammation, stimulates cell growth, beneficial for inflamed skin, acne, and eczema.

Gotu Kola– healing, increases collagen production, anti-aging, lightens scars, hydrating, super antioxidant

  • Homemade Facial Toner

    1/4 cup rosewater

    10 drops fennel essential oil

    10 drops basil essential oil

8 drops carrot seed essential oil

    3 drops clove essential oil

    4 drops geranium essential oil

1 dropper full gotu kola extract (alcohol free)

  • Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake well before use. Spray on face after cleansing, before moisturizing, 1-2 times per day or more if desired.

Please note- essential oils are extremely potent and should be used with caution. If you are pregnant or have any other condition, research what is safe and what is not.
