DIY Easy Hair Ombré

  • For the longest time, I've been admiring the looks of the Ombré effect most celebrities have been completely rocking on TV. I'd asked my dad if I could do the same, but he said that it might damage your hair. To be truly honest, I did straighten my hair quite often and it was a little damaged.

  • Then, I did my research on how to lighten hair without any damage or dye. I came across tea, lemon and honey, but the most easiest, fast, and efficient way I found of doing this was mixing baking soda and a little bit of hydrogen peroxide in a container, adding water as well. Keep reading to find out what my experience was like!

  • The first method I tried (for about three weeks) was mixing lemon juice, water and conditioner in a spray bottle. I would spray most of the ends first and work my way up. But, there's a catch. In order for the lemon juice to lighten, you have to stay outside. I stayed outside for about 30 minutes.

  • The lemon juice did do SOME work, but you could only see the colour if your were in the sunny outside. I wanted something that would show and make people notice the change! I tried chamomile tea and baking soda, but I didn't see any results. (Keep in mind that you have to wash your hair after every treatment!)

  • When I had my doubts, I still remembered I had one last resort. I tried mixing hydrogen peroxide and baking soda in a spray bottle and some water, shaking the mixture and trying that on my hair for 2 weeks! You just do this at least an hour before washing your hair. Stay in the sun as well!

  • I FINALLY had the results I wanted, and people noticed it quick too! I did this last summer and the treatment is still in my hair because of the peroxide. Keep in mind to use a LOT of conditioner when washing your hair afterwards!

  • Thank you so much for checking this out! All of these pictures are mine except for the first one😂 Remember that the peroxide does bleach your hair, hope this works for you like it has for me! And remember, these all require sun so I recommend doing this in the summer. Thank you!
