DIY Baby Dress! So Easy!
What you will need:
-An old men's button down shirt
-Elastic ( you can purchase this at craft stores!)
-Scissors (preferable fabric scissors for an easier line)
-Sewing machine or needle and thread
You can eyeball the length and style dress you would like to make, but I find it easier to trace a dress you already have! Make sure to cut a little bigger than your trace seeing we will be hemming the sides!
Once you've cut out your dress, sew from the neck to the shoulders and from underarms down. Turn inside out placing elastic along the edge of the neck and arms about a half inch to an inch away from the edges. If you desire the look shown, cut the elastic slightly shorter to create a scrunched look.
Sew one end of the elastic to one side of the seem to hold elastic in place. Fold over the edges and begin to enclose the elastic creating a hem. Use tweezers or a safety pin to pull the unsewn end of the elastic to the opposite edge and sew to hold in place.
And voila! A creative way of recycling old clothes!
