  • NATURAL DIY BEAUTY IS TRICKY | Here’s the thing about ANY diy beauty recipes: Their success is highly dependent upon on a number of things including: skin type, environmental factors (like humidity, temperature, etc.), ingredients + one's preferences. I wish I could find a simple solution that worked for everyone, however, all anyone who makes DIY beauty products can do is give you what worked for them + hopefully give you a starting point for your own exploration.

  • Finally, be smart about how you make your own beauty products. You can read this post (URL at bottom of imagen) on some ways to make sure your homemade beauty products remain safe. But even beyond the basics, don’t forget common sense: If you’re allergic to any ingredient, DON’T USE IT! If something smells bad… throw it out. If you don’t like it, try something else.

REMEMBER | Exploring + experimentation is ½ the fun!

  • In case someone asks...

Substitution for Arrowroot | You could probably use cornstarch, but I would highly recommend arrowroot because it’s a finer + lighter powder + less irritating in my experience. Tapioca flour might be another alternative. But experiment at your own risk!

  • For dried beet powder: I washed + peeled one giant beat + then cut it into small 1/4″ cubes. I then used my dehydrator for 8 – 12 hours until they were dried. After a quick spin in my handy little "mixer" (you could also use a spice grinder), I had some lovely beet powder. Make sure your dried beets are SUPER dry + grind them very fine or else you’ll just have a clumpy mess. (+ the beet smell will subside, promise!)
