  •  Just scoop up some neon pink bottles of nail polish from the dollar store, rescue your long forgotten plain oxfords from the bottom of the closet + paint away. There really isn't much more to it... but here are some extra pointers:

Start with a white/light base coat. It will save you from doing an extra coat (or 2 or 3) of the colored polish.

  • Work in the shade. If you sit in the hot sun, it will bake that nail polish so fast, you won't be able to spread it fast enough + will be left with some hideous lumps.

Have some polish remover handy to erase any mistakes or for touch ups.
*It took me 3 heavy coats to reach my desired coverage with a 1/2 hour of dry time inbetween. It might take you less or more - depending on polish + shoes.

*It is also a good idea to finish/seal in the polish with a clear spray coat or clear nail polish.

  • Or try monogrammed marbleized image by cutting out the letter A from a sticker (you could user painters tape, I just had this sticker on hand) with an Exacto knife.  I used the negative part of the sticker (negative part meaning outline) + stuck it onto the ornament.  Painted 1 tcoat of clear nail polish then another coat of white nail polish.  Then I dipped the ornament into the water with the marbleized nail polish. Removed the sticker + used nail polish remover to clean up the edges.
