Cheryl's Perfected Biscuits
Food & Drink
2 cups flour, 1 Tbsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. Baking soda, 1 tsp. Salt. Combine and whisk together. Add 1 stick real butter cut into small pieces. Using your hands mix butter into flour mixture until it resembles small peas or an oatmeal consistency. Add 1 cup butter milk(1 cup whole milk and 1 tsp. White vinegar). Pour into flour mixture and quickly stir until all flour is moist. Turn onto a lightly floured counter. Kneed only a couple times as the more you handle the dough the tougher your biscuits. ("I have made hockey pucks. Lol"). So when done kneading a couple of times literally,
I pinch off a small possibly egg size portion and place in a cast iron skillet that has butter melted in the bottom. When placing them in the pan place one side down and then flip it over so both sides are buttered. Place pan in a preheated 450' oven. Bake till golden brown about 15 to 19 minutes. Serve warm with butter, jam, honey or sausage gravy. Yummy. Makes great snacks when left over too.
