Change A Desk Into A Changing Table

  • There’s no need to purchase a pricey changing table when you have a desk at home that can be repurposed for diaper duty.

  • MATERIALS

    -150-grit sandpaper
    -Base coat primer paint
    -Pencil
    -Adhesive paper or contact paper
    -Scissors
    -Top layer paint
    -Paintbrush
    -Paint roller
    -Paint pan
    -Changing pad

  • INSTRUCTIONS

1.) Use the 150-grit sandpaper to smooth out any imperfections and remove the desk's existing finish.
2.) Paint the entire desk with the basecoat and allow time to dry
3.) Sketch desired shapes onto the contact paper that will be used to add silhouettes to the exterior of the table.
4.) Using scissors, cut out the shapes along the sketched lines. Peel off the backing of the contact paper and adhere each shape to the desk. Be sure to smooth out any air bubbles or wrinkles with a plastic card or flat edge

  • INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED

5.) Paint the entire desk with the top layer color. Use the paintbrush for the tight corners and edges, and the roller for the wider places. Let dry for 20 minutes or until the paint is slightly sticky.

6.) Remove the contact paper shapes, pulling carefully from the bottom of each shape towards the top, to reveal the base color patterns underneath.

7.) Once the paint has completely dried, lay the changing pad on top of the desk.
