Can't Concentrate On Reading?
Have to read 40 or so pages for school the next day? Procrastinated until the night before? Here are a few tips to stay on top of your reading!
Spread the number of pages you have to read between the number of days you have to read them. For example: if you have 5 days to read 100 pages, read 20 pages a night. That way, you would have less reading to do per day. If you are bored, read more pages one day and then you'll have less reading to do the next day!
DISTRACTED BY PHONE?
If your phone is distracting you from getting your reading done, leave it on a different floor of your house while you're reading. For me, I leave my phone in my bedroom on the second floor of my house and I do my reading in the kitchen on the first floor. That way, your phone is out of reach and it's more work to go get it than to read!
Another option to keep off your phone is to download the app Forest. For this app, you set the time you want to stay focused for and while you are reading, a tree will be growing. If you exit the app, the tree will die. It doesn't work for everyone but it is cool to grow your own virtual forest!
Lastly, a "game" I like to do is keep up with the clock while I'm reading. If it's 5:00, I want to read page one before 5:01. Then, I want to be on page 3 before 5:03. This way, you put your mind directly on finishing the book! Just try not to keep looking at the time. Try to read 30 pages and then see if you have read them before 5:30. For me, it keeps me motivated on reading instead of spacing out!
Thanks so much for reading! Let me know if it helps! This was my first tip so what do I need to improve on? THANKS AGAIN!!!
