Build A Custom Beauty Routine #SummerVibes
Skin & Body
I don't like to do the same thing for my skin every night and morning. I like to mix things up a bit. So, every evening, I look at myself in the mirror and ask, "What am I going to put on my face today?" It makes things a little more interesting, and I can cater my routine to my specific needs that day.
Pick your ingredients, and experiment with mixing them up and around!
Baking soda is great. It's recommended to use no more frequently than every other day. It works as a gentle exfoliator and it soaks up grease without drying your face like a withered prune.
Coffee grounds are great. They work as an exfoliator and really liven up your skin! Your brain isn't the only things coffee wakes up; under-eyes, anybody? Plus, it smells great and is the perfect excuse to make a little coffee.
Bentonite clay is amazing. It unclogs pores, detoxes your skin, improves circulation and softens your skin!
Honey is awesome. It's a natural antibacterial, so it helps with breakouts and acne. It's also full of antioxidants and said to slow down aging. And it moisturizes like there's no tomorrow, but doesn't make oily skin (like mine), well, greasy.
Sugar exfoliates, hydrates and is used to treat sun damage. But I mostly use it as a filler ingredient.
Most recommend using the egg white, but I've seen people use the yolk, too. But I'm going to talk about the white. It's said to tighten and shrink pores, reduce oil, reduce under-eye puffiness and reduce blackheads. It's also said to be good for hair.
Coconut oil protects your skin from infection, helps your skin retain moisture and gives your face a healthy glow. It's also a great makeup remover. And a perfect carrier oil for diluting strong essential oils like peppermint and eucalyptus.
Olive oil is extremely moisturizing, and it's full of antioxidants for your skin. And even if you have oily skin, you can still use it from time to time (just maybe not daily). Olive oil feels so amazing on your skin; I'd take it over any of the high end beauty products!
DoTerra essential oils have been shown in studies to be the most pure and the only ones I trust with my face. I use a wide variety of them and will elaborate on the next page.
Lavender: Soothes, good for acne
Cedarwood: reduces skin irritations
Lemon: brightens, moisturizes (don't go into direct sunlight after application, if you do, wear sunscreen)
Peppermint: brightens, invigorates, (IMPORTANT, use with a carrier oil such as coconut)
Frankincense: prevents wrinkles, prevents cancer, heals scars and acne
