Belly Button Piercing Tips

posted in Skin & Body
  • Belly button rings are super cute and look amazing during the summer but they need a lot of tender loving care.

  • Crusting is major part of the healing process when your ring completely stops crusting that mean it is healed fully. To remove crust simply take a Q-tip and gently remove crust. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR PIERCING UNTIL IT IS HEALED!

  • To avoid a nasty infection soak your piercing once or twice a day with a sea salt soak. Sea salt is sold in almost every local grocery store. To clean your piercing take a shot glass or any small container and fill it with warm water then add a little sea salt then lay down and place the cup over your piercing. Keep it there for about 10 minutes.

  • Don't wear super tight clothing while it is healing because it can snag onto your ring and rip out your piecing (yikes)! Instead wear a fitted cotton shirt to allow the piercing to breath.

  • It's best to get your belly button pierced during the winter because belly rings take up to a year to completely heal and during the first 5 months of the healing period you shouldn't go swimming as it may cause irritation or an infection.
