  • Step 1: find some form of exercise you love to do!
    For some people it's running with a dog, for others it's biking. Exercise shouldn't be a chore, it should be something you look forward to. If you do something you hate, you won't be able to keep it up for long, which means you won't stay fit.

  • Here are some fun exercise ideas:
      •dancing
      •boxing
      •team sports
      •hiking
      •yoga
      •long walks 
      •swimming 
      •cycling
      •horseback riding ( it's actually much harder than it seems)
      •gardening 
      •gymnastics 
      •jumping on a trampoline 

  • Step 2: Stick to it!
    Once you find a way to be active and have fun, keep it up! Don't think of it as a daily chore, but as something to look forward to. If you find yourself with extra free time, don't order Thai food and catch up on your favorite show, go and do something active! You'll release endorphins, get in shape, and have an easier time falling asleep.

  • Step 3: Go outside everyday
    You don't have to run or do anything exhausting (unless you want to), but make sure to spend at least 30 minutes outside every day. Fresh air is good for you, and spending time outdoors allows you to think about your life so you won't have to at 2 am when you're trying to fall asleep. Besides, nature is actually pretty great, and the more you go out the more you will see!

  • Step 4: eat better!
    This doesn't mean cutting out sugar and carbs or going on some crazy diet. Just maybe replace your doughnut with a homemade fruit smoothie once in a while. Eat things that make you feel good in the long run, not just for a few seconds. Put small health foods into your everyday snacks, like flaxseed or chia seeds. These have practically no taste and can be slipped into most foods without any taste bud the wiser! You can also try drinking those detox waters, they taste good and make you feel good, which is what anything you put in your body should do. 

  • Step 5: drink lots of water
    This is a no brainer. Always have a bottle on you, and drink! Water is one of the best things in the world, don't let it go to waste. If your pee isn't mostly clear, drink more water. 

  • Step 6: Take care of yourself!
    Listen to your body. If you're tired, rest. If you're antsy, move. Your body knows what it needs and it's going to tell you. Indulge yourself. Take long scented baths and splurge on nice lotion. Your body is going to be with you forever, so be kind to it, no matter what it looks like.
