  • I used to be late all the time, but figured out an easy way to change that. Here are 3 tips on how to change your habit from being late to being early.

    1. When making appointments, always write down a time of 15 minutes earlier than they tell you.

    Most of the time, I forget I did that.


  • 2. Figure out how much time it takes you to get ready in the morning, and add 15 minutes to it.

    Time yourself getting ready at the speed you like.

    Count in the time it takes you to wake up, make coffee, brush your teeth, get dressed, put on make up, and warm up the car.


  • 3. Many people leave their house with barely enough time to get somewhere. Make sure you know the time it takes to get somewhere by checking mapquest or timing yourself.

    Add 15-30 minutes to that time. This will cover the unexpected; car accidents, traffic, stopping at every red light, etc.

    1. Add time to your appointments.

    2. Add time to your 'getting ready' routine.

    3. Add time to driving time.

    If you're worried you'll be too early, try it out first (it's better to be early than late).

    Adjust the time to 10 minutes instead if you're too early.
