7 Tips & Tricks to Make Your Eyes POP!
Here are 7 tips and tricks to make your eyes pop!
1. Use a contrasting color to your eye color.
This trick bases it off something you already know well, your eye color! What’s the opposite color of your eyes? Check a color wheel!. Brown eyes should opt for rich blue and purple shadows. Green eyes can try taupes and smokey grays. Blue eyed gals, opt for some warm colors or even a fiery red. Opposites attract…a lot of attention to your beautifully shadowed eyes.
2. Brown and black liner can be friends.
If you’re opting for a softer look but still want your eyes to pop, try lining your upper lid with black liner and your bottom lash line with brown. This will give you the pop that a more dramatically lined look gives, but softer and more subtle. Perfect for daytime or work.
3. Get out your white pencil.
This trick not only makes your eyes pop, but helps hide any signs of a late night out. Gently line the inside bottom lid with a white liner. If your eyes are close-set, also lightly line the area where your upper and lower lids meet. This instantly makes it look like you got enough sleep and weren’t out partying all night.
4. Go easy with the liner.
If you have big eyes, go a little easy with the liner. What does that mean exactly? If you line the entirety of your eye lid you’ll actually make your eyes look smaller. Trying stopping halfway or three quarters of the way through. Trust us. This will keep your big eyes look bold and beautiful.
5. Cool them off.
Before applying any makeup, try a cold compress or cooling gel around your eyes. This can de-puff your eyes leaving you looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed before you start applying makeup.
6. Curl your lashes.
There is a huge part of the population that doesn’t bother curling their lashes. They are only hurting themselves. Curling your lashes instantly opens up your eyes and extends the surface area of your eye look. For those who don’t use a lash curler: I know lash curlers can be scary but trust us, you got this.
7. Conceal AND brighten those dark circles.
Dark circles are a huge culprit in making eyes appear smaller. Choose a concealer that not only conceals, but also brightens your under-eye area. This helps subtly highlight your eyes and giving them that big doe-eyed appearance you’re after.
