50 Lavander Oil Uses
Health & Fitness
Lavender essential oil is popular for its pretty smell, but lavender oil uses aren’t limited to the pretty. Lavender essential oil is actually a potent oil that can be used to support your body’s health in so many ways! A single bottle of therapeutic lavender oil can transform your medicine cabinet, first aid kit, and beauty regimen. That’s why I always keep a bottle handy!
1. Skin Rashes
If you have a skin rash connected to fungal or candida overgrowth, lavender oil is a must. Mix a few drops in a carrier oil (my favorite would be coconut oil because of its anti-fungal properties), and apply to the affected area twice a day.
Lavender oil is gentle on the skin, but fights acne like crazy. Add a few drops to your favorite cleanser, toner, or moisturizer. Bonus: lavender can help heal acne scars as well!
Feeling overwhelmed? Lavender is your best friend. Diffuse lavender oil in an essential oil diffuser to alleviate feelings of anxiety.
4. Restful Sleep
A few drops of lavender oil on your pillowcase can help you get to dreamland and stay there all night.
5. Minor Burns
Use a cool compress with 8-10 drops of lavender oil to soothe minor burns. You can also apply a mixture of lavender oil and aloe vera juice to the affected area.
6. Small Cuts and Scrapes
Use lavender oil diluted with a little olive oil or coconut oil, and apply to small cuts and scrapes with a cotton swab or cotton ball 2-3 times per day until the area is healed.
A mixture of coconut oil, shea butter and lavender oil is the perfect moisturizer for eczema. You can also mix up a simple scrub with oatmeal, sugar, coconut oil and lavender essential oil to use on affected areas.
8. Dry Skin
Add some lavender oil to your favorite moisturizer (may I suggest whipped coconut oil body butter?) to fight dry skin.
Mix a few drops of lavender oil with aloe vera juice and rose water. Apply to the sunburn and then moisturize with a light layer of coconut oil.
The protocol for nosebleeds goes like this: wrap a piece of tissue around a small ice cube. Place a drop of lavender essential oil on the tissue, then place the ice cube up under the middle of your upper lip (so it’s right under the base of your nose). Hold it there gently until the bleeding stops (or until it’s no longer comfortable–we’re not trying to freeze your lip!)
Add a few drops of lavender oil to your regular shampoo for daily benefits. Then once weekly do a deep scalp treatment with 10 drops of lavender oil in 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil or olive oil–massage into the scalp and allow this to sit for 30-60 minutes, then wash hair as usual.
12. Bee Stings
Remove the stinger carefully if needed. Run cold water over the area if possible, then apply a drop of lavender essential oil to the sting. Reapply as needed to reduce redness and swelling.
13. Hay Fever
Diffuse lavender during allergy season. You can also rub a drop between your palms and inhale deeply for immediate relief.
Apply a few drops of lavender oil to some gauze or a bandage and cover the blister. Reapply daily if needed.
When you’re feeling snappy or about to lose your temper, place a few drops of lavender on a tissue or handkerchief. Hold up to your nose and breathe deeply (or just smell the bottle if you’re in a hurry!). You can also diffuse lavender on days when you just feel more on edge than usual.
16. Bug Bites
For itchy bug bites and minor stings, apply a mixture of aloe and lavender oil as needed to relieve pain and itchiness.
17. Bug Repellent
Prevent the bug bites in the first place! Dab lavender oil on wrists, neck and ankles to keep away bugs.

21. Menstrual Cramps
Massage a few drops of lavender oil into the abdominal area or apply a few drops with a hot compress to relieve menstrual pain.
22. Grief or Emotional Trauma
When faced with trying times that test our emotions, lavender oil can be diffused to restore a sense of calm and balance.
23. Cold Sores
Dilute a few drops of lavender oil in a small amount of carrier oil, and apply to cold sores as needed.

Breathe in lavender (use a diffuser, or on a pillowcase if you need to lie down) to relieve symptoms of vertigo.

44. Muscle Spasms
Alleviate muscle spasms by massaging the area with lavender oil (diluted with a carrier oil). Adding a little magnesium oil can bring extra relief.
45. Thinning Hair
Lavender supports scalp health and thickens the hair shaft. Add 10 drops of lavender oil and 1/4 apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of water–use this after shampooing 2-3 times per week. Massage the mixture into your scalp, let it sit for a couple of minutes, and then lightly rinse.
