11 Dating Don'ts You Should Never Accept From Your Guy 😑
Here you go ladies
Dating Don't: He Guards His Phone Like It's a CIA Classified Document
There are plenty of times we leave our precious texting machines unlocked and unattended around the person we're dating. But if your guy makes a point to constantly lock the screen, place it out of your view, and take it with him to the bathroom (even when he's showering), the odds are pretty good that he's got something to hide.
Dating Don't: You've Been Together for Six Months and He Hasn't Introduced You to Any Relatives
After becoming exclusive and having a relationship blossom over the course of several months, a guy will naturally incorporate you into his life more and more. That includes meeting his mom. His step-sister. Heck, even his uncle who just got released from prison (yep, true story). If six months go by and you haven't met a soul, there may be a reason—and you deserve to know it.
Dating Don't: He Hangs Out With His Ex...a Lot
Sometimes, it pays to listen to your Spidey Sense. Maybe it goes off when he grabs (frequent...solo) drinks with an ex. Or maybe you simply don't like the idea of him making plans with a girl who writes "<3<3<3" all over his Facebook wall. Whatever the case, avoid turning her into Public Frenemy No. 1 and approach the issue in a mature way: Simply ask to be included in the plans.
Dating Don't: He Plays Hot and Cold
During the initial month of courtship, a guy might pull a little game, like waiting an extra day before calling you, or trying to play it cool when you finally invite him upstairs (you know, instead of jumping up and down like he really wants to). But once you gain the "girlfriend" title, all games should end for good. There should be no more questions as to whether he's into you, like 24 hours passing with no calls, texts, or email, or his saying he "has plans" but not elaborating on what they are.
Dating Don't: He's a Jerk to You. Like, Regularly
You know when your friend is dating a guy everyone can see is a huge jerk...except her? Well, sometimes you are that girl, but love makes your judgment too cloudy to realize. So here's a PSA: Trust your gut. Stop making excuses. You deserve better.
Dating Don't: He Treats His Mom Like a Queen...and You Like a Commoner
We've all heard mama's-boy horror stories, but here's the thing: It's not that he shouldn't love and respect his mother (it's a good sign if he does!), it's just that she shouldn't constantly trump you in your own relationship. If you want a beach wedding and Mom wants a giant black-tie wedding, who wins? If you pick out beige paint for the bedroom, does she convince him it should be yellow? When it comes to your relationship, there should be only one female voice he has to listen to.
Dating Don't: He Makes No Effort With Your Family
He looks bored to tears around your family, still can't remember your nephew's name (it's the same as his), and when you invite him to your cousin's wedding, he whines, "Do we have to go?" Time to grow up, buddy!
Dating Don't: His Schedule Is Full...of Things Other Than Hanging Out With You
That whole exclusivity thing between the two of you means that you can't go out on dates with other guys. Remind him of that fact when he spends the third Saturday night in a row with the boys. If he doesn't give his priorities a 180, you know where you fall in the list.
Dating Don't: He Doesn't Really Care About Pleasing You in Bed
There are some guys who try and fail, and then there are some guys who don't try at all. If you've clearly communicated what you want, are willing to (and do) reciprocate, and he's still sticking to his same selfish 10-minute routine, it's time for a serious talk.
Dating Don't: He Lies
Lying about whether he thinks your mom is cool is one thing. Lying about where he is, how he feels about you, or anything that makes you feel like crap is another. A good guy with nothing to hide won't lie to you. Period.
Dating Don't: He Doesn't Compromise
It may be an unfair fact of life thatThe Real Housewives and The Daily Show are broadcast simultaneously—but that's what DVRs are for. If you never get to watch your show, pick the movie, choose the restaurant, name the pet, or plan the afternoon, your guy clearly just wants things his way.
