    U color+ur hair is damaged there are holes in your roof water leaks in ur color is leaking out each time u shampoo Just know that each time you do a process u are damaging your shingles so here is my tips on styling hair to prevent as much damage as possible....
  • 1. Brush your hair prior to washing it I have a brush that I specifically use for this purpose.
    2. When shampooing don't rat up your hair be gentle massage your scalp well then just run the suds through the rest of your hair towards the ends running ur fingers through to prevent tangles.
    ----->

  • 3. When conditioning don't vigorously rub use your hands to gently comb the conditioner through ur hair starting with the ends removing as many tangles as possible.
    4. Squeeze the water out of ur hair again don't rub it with the towel.
    5. Comb through hair with your fingers then with a wide tooth-->

  • Comb if necessary if u can skip the comb that's great ur hair is in it's most fragile state when it's wet.
    6. Let it air dry if possible if not then be sure when blow drying u are directing the air from the root to the ends this will help to lay your cuticle(shingles) down where if u blow dry-->

  • Towards the root or against the shingles it will make them stand up or even come off causing your hair to look frizzy dry and damaged. Drying downwards helps to lay down the cuticle and make your hair look smoother.
    7. Once your hair is damp not dry u can start to use a brush to create the style--->

  • You would like your hair is less fragile and brushing hair now instead of when it's wet wet will be less likely to break ur hair remember still blow the hair from roots to ends pointing the flow of air toward the end of ur hair use a heat protectant product of ur choice.

  • 8. Use the cool shot button on ur dryer to set ur style (want lift at the roots just use brush to elevate hair at base away from scalp hit it with a good shot of heat holding brush in place hit the button and feel for the air to get cool this will help set in that volume.
    9. If using a ----->

  • straightener a couple tips use a comb to straighten hair as it is fed into the straightenerMoving the comb along the hair actually touching the iron to make sure hair is straight before the heat hits it so u don't have to go over same spot over again(more exposure more damage)

  • 10. Last but not least u don't have to shampoo everyday your scalp produces oils that are good for your hair take a shower even wet hair if u feel it needs to be restyled but depending on ur hair texture and condition u can make the call on when ur hair needs to be washed----->

  • I have very long coloredcurly hair that I straighten on a regular basis I try to let it air dry with a styling cream that I make myself on day1 and leave it curly no hairspray{maybe a little on front bang area}) before bed I brush through it on day 2 I will add a bit>>

  • More cream to the ends+section off the smaller sections the better(less exposure to heat)I can then wear it up or down day3 is usually a pony day braids buns pigtails depends on the day but it's ready for a wash by day4 this is my basic routine when my hair was shorter I would wash every other day.
